O.V. aka Ovito

Son of Dominican parents and born in the most famous hood on earth... HARLEM, NY!  No stranger to hard work and always grinding, O.V. has his sights set on the top and he’s on his way. Even though we can’t really say that music was his direct calling since he was a child, it made its way into his soul. At a young age his father used to circle the best songs on any album he had recently purchased so he can play at the next family gathering. (Yeah his father had him a DJing at 7yrs. old) His uncle Hector aka ‘Papote’ played a couple instruments and was a part of a Latin band back in the day, but the one to actually introduce him to this industry was none other than his younger brother Omar. Omar knocked on his brother’s bedroom door one night and dared O.V. to record a song with him. Not one to back down from ANY challenge, O.V. and Omar collaborated on the song and the rest is history. After years of refining his craft by rhyming on street corners, battling in front of local barbershops, and assisting others with their own projects, 2005 proved to be his coming out party. With a mix-tape entitled “ POWERMOVES39th ”, he promised not to disappoint and didn’t! The mix-tape contained both English and Spanish compositions mixed with a precise blend of beats that complimented his powerful voice. With this CD, he showed what kind of a difference a creative mind and original talent can make. In a small period of time, O.V. turned Uptown, Manhattan, upside down and took the Dominican Republic by storm. Following the strong buzz his first two Spanish singles, “ Ay Mama ” and “ Eso Ehh ” garnered in the Dominican Republic, O.V. was able to bring Hip-hop, Spanish Hip-Hop and Rap to a higher level. With every TV and radio station reaching out to him, including Sabado de Corporan , a LIVE- nationally televised show in Santo Domingo and broadcasted in the U.S. The whole country was able to see and hear what the craze has been all about. After a 20-minute interview with Corporan De Los Santos, the phones couldn’t stop ringing. With the country’s leading beer company Presidente lending their support, in just one week O.V. performed in as many venues as he could. Between Santo Domingo, La Romana, Higuey, Santiago and of course his father's hometowm San Pedro de Macorís. Upon returning to the states, guest appearances alongside Congressman Charles Rangel at the Dominican Day Parade and after party performances showcased to the people of New York that what they saw on TV wasn’t a fluke. Aside from his passion for music O.V. has another passion which happens to be acting.     Some projects under his belt include; -‘ Shades of Blue ’ alongside Rita Moreno and produced by Kory Marrero where he plays a hit man (NO, he doesn’t die the first 5 minutes into it). - An MTV Indy film called ‘ The WayStation; Prelude ’ directed by Austin Reading as a leader of organized crime enterprise. -A Spanish TV series on Telemicro by the name of ‘ MORTALES ’ where he played a cheating husband. -‘ Happily Ever After ’ (an off Broadway show) in addition to several commercials -and lead roles in music videos, such as “ Esclava a tu Querer ” in the bachata duo Girlz Talk video where he played a broken hearted-hopeless romantic.  With more movie scripts on the table, he proves that a creative and artistic mind can’t do just one thing and he’s making sure he explores all that he can do in this industry.   But let's get back to the music... O.V.’s stage presence and obvious confidence behind a microphone comes from years of performing in numerous world renowned clubs such as New York’s China Club, Club Morocco, up and down the East Coast, Puerto Rico, and Honduras. And with that, May 2013 came with the invitation to perform at the grand opening of AKON’s new Jewel Night Club in Punta Cana, DR, an opportunity that he took while in the midst of a promo tour for his singles “ Pegate ” and “ Control ”.  With an English mix-tape entitle ‘Pimpin Made Simple’ out, Independent film on the way, shooting new videos and more, there are No Days Off for O.V. the Actor/Rapper/Songwriter/Model/Entrepreneur.    So you better stay tuned…
